Final Reflection

In the beginning of the trimester, I recall stepping foot in this classroom wondering what there was to learn about digital photography. I figured it was simple, just like taking pictures on my phone. But from this class, I learned it was a lot different. Taking pictures with a good blend of compositional elements takes practice and thought. This is an example of one of my earlier work in this class.
This picture of my grandma is okay for a beginner, but the compositional elements are not very well thought-out. The lighting on her face washes her out and the background is distracting. At the time, I did not have a very good grasp of what makes a good picture.

Later on, I took these pictures.

These later pictures have the elements of a photo more carefully displayed.

Furthermore, in this class I learned a lot about what different and unique things can be done with Photoshop. From touching up a car to creating visual puns, Photoshop has a multitude of variety, and from this class, I was able to learn the ropes.

In conclusion, I learned about different elements of composition, different functions of a camera, how to take a good photo, and different creative uses of Photoshop. This is only the start, but now I have a good basis to learn even more about digital photography, all thanks to this class.
